We’ve seen this narrative before. Most notably with Daniel Penny, who was praised and defended after putting Jordan Neely, a 30-year-old Black man, in a fatal chokehold. Or with Dylan Roof, who murdered Black worshippers during Bible study and was apprehended unharmed, even offered a meal.
