Finally scraped together the courage to watch “The Flowers of War” (2011). Brilliantly done, but hard viewing for me. A violent film which still is tame compared to what the Japanese soldiers did to us. White folks are so ignorant of our suffering at the dawn of WWII they write dumb shit like, “Can you think of any reason the character John Miller is needed to tell his story?
