Did the CEO of Reddit realize that through his actions he was burning his site to the ground? Probably not. CEOs aren’t smarter than the average person. I’ve met a few and they can be quite dumb in some ways. Highly motivated, and often very lucky and privileged through their lives, but not smarter than the average person. Their position emboldens them with a certain hubris that often makes them dumber because they can’t see what is obvious to everyone else.
